Responsible Production

Responsible Production, Safe Textiles & Full Supply Chain Traceability

At Layers of Urban, we produce our products with a people- and planet-conscious approach—partnering with manufacturing facilities that uphold ethical working conditions, proven chemical safety, and verified supply chain traceability. Every piece we create comes from audited suppliers, reviewed for both material safety and the social/environmental standards behind production.

Ethical & Social Compliance (SEDEX / SMETA)

Through SMETA social compliance audits conducted via the Sedex platform, we help ensure internationally recognized standards are applied across the facilities we work with, including:

  • Workers’ rights

  • Health & safety

  • Ethical business practices

Safe for People & Nature (OEKO-TEX®)

The yarns and raw materials we use are sourced from productions verified as safe for skin-contact products and tested against harmful chemicals in line with OEKO-TEX® standards. OEKO-TEX® is a globally recognized textile safety standard that restricts a wide range of hazardous substances—from heavy metals to pesticides.

Our Sustainability Approach

We design our products with longevity in mind—aiming to reduce resource use and waste through pieces meant to be worn for longer. In every collection, our focus includes:

  • More responsible material choices

  • Processes that reduce environmental impact in production

  • Durability and quality

Traceable Supply Chain (Traceability)

We know where each product is made and under which standards. By keeping our supply chain transparent, we move forward with verifiable information on production facilities, audit processes, and material safety. This helps us protect quality while supporting our responsible production commitment with real data.

In short

Layers of Urban products come from a supply chain that is ethically audited, tested against harmful substances, sustainability-focused, and traceable—an invisible but essential assurance behind the pieces you wear every day.
